SHLB Sings Our Thanks!

Blogs,

By Alicja Johnson, communications manager, SHLB Coalition

For this year's Giving Tuesday, SHLB asked our community to help us raise $10,000 for our #BroadbandSaves fundraiser. The goal was to generate additional funding so that we could do even more for anchor institution broadband in 2021. As a fun incentive, SHLB Coalition Executive Director John Windhausen promised that if we reached our fundraising goal, he would virtually perform an aria from a popular opera.

Thanks to our amazing supporters, our fundraising goal was blown out of the water. #BroadbandSaves raised $12,535! Adding a generous matching contribution from the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, SHLB will receive a total of $16,535

In a word? Wow.

We extend our most sincere thanks to every single person who donated, to our board members, to our members, as well as to all of you who helped us spread the word about #BroadbandSaves. And of course, we especially appreciate Benton's kindness in doubling the impact of our donors.

If you're so inclined, the SHLB Coalition welcomes donations year-round at shlb.org/support.

Without further ado, please enjoy John Windhausen's rendition of "La donna è mobile" from the 1851 opera "Rigoletto."
