Professional Bio

For the last 20 years I have worked with federal funding of all types and have supported intelligent legislation with respect to broadband initiatives and digital citizenship. My background in communications started with RF technology in the early 1990s when we developed and deployed IP based satellite services for ISPs requiring backhaul. After which, I worked to build Lucent Technologies shared environment NOC for CLECs in Aurora, CO and deployed their Operational Support Systems. My career then took me into the service provider role, and I spent several years building middle mile networks and selling wholesale services (from dialup POPs to fiber). My current role began in 2003 when I incorporated ADS Advanced Data Services, Inc. with the primary goal of mitigating risk and assuring business continuity to schools and libraries. In 2015, ADS expanded into serving health care clients. By choice we remain a small company in terms of employees, but we currently manage more than 210 million in USAC funding, the majority of which is with our health care clients. I have been working to promote digital citizenship long before COVID and it starts (but does not end) with broadband. I regularly interact with the FCC, NTIA, and other agencies with the best interests of the communities I serve. My experiences provide a strong foundation comprised of both the service provider and applicant perspective. My hope is to use these experiences to better assist SHLB in continuing its mission.
