Statement of Interest for the Board of Directors
I am excited about the possibility of contributing to SHLB's mission and vision as a member of the board. I spent 7 years as a classroom teacher in OK and TX, where I gained experience in education technology. I served as an Education Consultant for 5 years with SMART Technologies, travelling around the U.S. working with school administrators to deploy technologies from mega districts to very small districts. I moved to the OK Corporation Commission where I worked in the Public Utility Division from 2012-2015. I worked with schools, libraries, and healthcare organizations determine service and bandwidth needs in compliance with program statutes & rules. In 2015, I moved to a private consulting company where I began working with HCPs to apply for FCC and OUSF funding. In 2019, I founded Redbud Telecom Consulting, working with HCPs to obtain state and federal USF funding. I served on my local school board from 2018-20. I have served as a Councilor for the City of Newcastle, OK since fall of 2020. I enjoy working collaboratively with others and bringing unique perspectives to achieve common goals for an organization. I am confident my well-rounded background enables me to make meaningful contributions to the SHLB board.
