Tom Esselman

Tom Esselman has lived in Kansas City since 1989, when he started a 22-year career job with Hallmark Cards.  Tom left Hallmark in 2012 for nonprofit leadership with Connecting For Good, focused on providing affordable and reliable technology and training for older adults and low income families.  In 2019, Tom negotiated a merger with PCs for People, a national nonprofit e-waste recycling enterprise, with a mission to close the ‘digital divide’ throughout the U.S. with high speed, low cost internet and refurbished computers.  Tom left PCs for People KC in December, 2023, and now runs a startup nonprofit called the Digital Equity Program Office of Greater Kansas City, focused on assisting local nonprofits who rely on digital access for basic services to the community.
