Thomas Jones

Thomas Jones is outside counsel to Granite Telecommunications, LLC. Thomas has over 30 years of experience as a telecommunications and technology regulatory attorney. Thomas spent 28 years at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, where he was a partner for 20 years (2000-2020), served on the Washington, D.C. Management Committee from 2012-2016, and served as Chairman of the Communications Department from 2016-2020. During his time at Willkie Farr, Thomas represented clients in rulemakings, adjudications, investigations, and merger reviews at the FCC, in adjudications and transactions before state Public Utility Commissions, in merger reviews before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, and in appeals of FCC orders before federal courts of appeal. He developed a deep expertise in common carrier laws, merger review, and legal and policy issues pertaining to broadband and online digital platforms. After leaving Willkie Farr in 2020, Thomas established a solo practice, advising clients on legal issues relating to the potential regulation of dominant Internet intermediaries and on FCC matters.
